Self Esteem & Confidence Building Therapy in Walnut Creek
Do you…
… struggle with low confidence and low self esteem?
… set yourself to a much higher standard that you do others?
… have a hard time doing things for you rather than others? (put others needs before your own)
… struggle to trust yourself?
… have a hard time having your own opinions and voicing them?
… fear taking a challenge because you might fail?
… feel fearful that others may judge or criticize you?
… struggle to take compliments from others?
… need to put on a “front” for others so they don’t reject or abandon you?
Living with low self worth can be difficult. But I’m here to tell you:
Having low self esteem is not a character flaw.
In fact the “roots” are a lot more complicated than that.
Often when someone is suffering from low self esteem and confidence, it isn’t something that someone just “has”. It’s not a character defect that you’re born with. Rather, there are many reasons why someone may be suffering with low self esteem.
Causes for low self esteem
Naturally, the causes can be very different for everyone. In working with low self esteem with my clients, I often guide clients to uncover the underlying narratives, beliefs or feelings that are at the roots of low self esteem. Some of the underlying narratives may include:
- Feeling a big sense of disconnect from another person or group of people
- Awareness of feeling mistreated or betrayed by others
- Powerlessness over getting someone stop being critical, judgmental, rejecting, abandoning, or abusive — and it’s terrifying
- Feeling a sense of danger in how others would respond
- An awareness of living life less than one’s full potential
- Ongoing vulnerability and risk of rejection, failure and criticism
- and many more
This is where therapy can help improve self esteem

I utilize methods that can get to the heart of the issue, so you can achieve healing fast and effectively — with no negative side effects! As a Holistic Psychotherapist, I’m trained to look at the “big picture”, so I focus on all factors and narratives rather than one issue or diagnosis. In working with clients, I’ve found it to be very common for people with low self esteem to also have anxiety and/or depression.
As your therapist, I will support you in uncovering the inner narratives and life experiences that have impacted your self worth. We will also focus on the anxiety and/or depression that are underlying the low self esteem, so you can heal and start living life with confidence.
All of this is at your own pace. In therapy, you are in the driver’s seat — not me. Therefore, I frequently try to ask my clients what it is that they want to focus on during each session. Therapy is a place where you get time and attention and you get to set the pace.
As you therapist, I will help you become more in touch with your feelings and gain a better sense of who you are, so you can become more confident in yourself. I will also support you in healing from any past traumas or emotional blocks that may be uncovered to help improve your confidence level.
Therapy is a place where you can be you. In therapy, you are safe of any judgment or criticism. You have your time and space to talk about, feel, explore and experience whatever you want. As your therapist, I am here for guidance and support. Ultimately, it’s your choice because it is your time and space.
Attaining confidence is possible.

You deserve to feel worthy. You deserve happiness.
I wholeheartedly believe that; with time and effort, I know you can achieve self confidence.
